I really enjoy a mix of events every winter season, from one day local markets to 3 day shows.
Exeter Village Market is my new local market in the Southern Highlands near Sydney. Saturday July 4th, 9.30 - 1.30pm
Beaches Fibre Market is a new venture at Warriewood Community Centre. 10am - 3pm - join me there!
Both markets will boast a sale rail, fancy yarns for all skill levels, kits, garments & vintage knitting books.
Sadly the Sydney Quilt Fair at Darling Harbour clashes with Bendigo Sheep Show. So, one of my last events for 2026 will now be September's Quilt NSW at Rosehill Gardens. |

CLASSES Knitters Guild Gathering @ Stanwell Tops
SURPRISE! Quilt NSW Rosehill Gardens
Thurs 17 - Sat 19 Sept 9.30 - 4pm |
| Unfortunately, the Sydney Quilt Fair & Bendigo Wool Show clash in 2026, so for the first time in over 20 years I won't be at the Quilt Fair. I will, however, be returning to Quilt NSW, at the stunning Rosehill Gardens in Sydney from Thursday 17th to Saturday 19th of September. |
NSW Knitters Guild Gathering 21st - 23rd August
I do enjoy a touch of teaching, passing on my experience & techniques and discussing design. This is the guild's annual gathering (retreat) so come and make a weekend of it on the needles!!! Book classes now with the NSW knitters guild |
 |
| The Guild has chosen three classes |

Sat morning, 22nd: 3 hour Mitre knitting class
This class is about both knitting mitres and how I design garments in Mitres. Image lower right is the Nomad Swagger, with the back panel of mitres knitted first.
Sat afternoon, 22nd: 3 hour Fitting & Ease class
This class is a lecture-style presentation. I will share how I achieve ease into the hip and fit over the shoulders of my designs. These techniques can also be applied to commercial patterns. The class will ensure that you knit all your garments with greater confidence.
Sunday morning 23rd: 3 hour Texture class
There are very few of my designs that don't feature cables and bobbles. They form part of both design and styling. Additionally, I love raised textures like the Lace leaf on the centre back of the Byron Coat (right). Basket stitch for buttons bands and Hanging Bells also enhance the Split Texture Jacket look below left. |

| Why not visit the Signatur studio? |
 |
Holidays in or around Sydney are a great excuse to visit my studio at Killarney Heights, 20 minutes drive from the Opera House! Please make sure you call a couple of days before, just in case I've knit the road.

I never expected to see this!
In April, a lovely lady indulged in a day out at the Australasian Quilt Convention at Carlton Gardens Melbourne, wearing her Signatur Handknit in cream and pastels from 1988! That's almost 40 years!
Between us we found a wonderful new Blocks Cardiagn in greys. It was a perfect fit in a combination of wool and mohair. Wonderfully, our lovely lady returned the next day and continued her Signatur journey with a second new Jacket! |

The Blocks design really is a core piece in my range and finds its roots in the late 1980's - living Vintage indeed!
I know there are many, many blocks cardigans still being worn many, many years after they were purchased.
Here's a few more colourways below.

Left: The Collared Jacket in Aubergine/Plum and the Round neck cardigan in Black and greys.
Note, I rarely use black and white: this is a light grey. In fact, I don't really use cream/white in a colour mix garment unless I am starting with a mid-grey base. Black and white are just too much of a contrast.

Left and Right: Blocks Jacket, which adds a collar, pockets and has a back button detail.
Left: Charcoal and greys, very muted. Right: Charcoal with Autumn tones.
Below: the classic round neck cardigan.
Left to right: Black and Autumn. Purple with Pink and Red: the base is purple not plum - it's an older image.
Lastly and luscious: Blue combination with greens.

Below: the Beige/Cream is a cotton mix that really suits Amanda. It's pretty hard to find 5 to 6 colours neutral enough without one of the colours looking dull or dirty. Meg in the middle models a super popular Navy base with Peacock and Azure Mohair.
The last shot below right shows how open and loose the Cowl collar is on the sweater style. There are other collar options including a classic round neck, grandpa buttondown, and a Polo. I don't offer a classic Vee as the garment has blocks in Wool & Mohair and would be a tad challenging to keep the Vee even. |

| A longer Harvest with A-Line |
| My Harvest Jacket now has a longer version with added A-line shaping to create a Swagger style with extra room over the hips. Let's take a closer look at the stitch patterns in Harvest Jacket |
  |
The Harvest Jacket started with the Apple Tree which is centre back between the shoulders. This took about 6 swatches to achieve a good balance.
Picking up neckbands is always a challenge and even moreso from Reverse Stocking stitch to achieving a good finish. I use what I call a Garter Ridge, the pick up row right front edge to left front edge is knit, the first WS row knit to achieve Purl on the RS, Purl next row RS = 2 rows of Purl, WS row Purl. Then work the rib of the collar. This Garter Ridge Purl hides any uneveness in the pick up row. |
  |
The small Pear Tree (left) has Grasses each side. With 8 chest sizes I have given the grasses as a row by row instruction, which I have continued for the full garment.
The most challenging section to design was the half Apple tree each side of the buttonband, to bring the tree branches from the cable. I am very happy with the results.
On the needles at present I have a longer style with more A-line adding a slight Swagger into the hip. The original has a touch of A-line into the side panels only. |
