Designers & Creators starts Friday in Sydney
Australia's finest artisans start this Friday: November 13 - 15
Christmas shopping has never been more fulfilling: Designers and Creators at Turramurra opens this Friday November 13 for three days - you'll be overwhelmed by the originality, style and stunning quality of our artisan's creations.
And on Saturday at 1.00pm at Designers & Creators Deborah Cameron from ABC radio's Sydney morning show will introduce "Swing Swagger & Drape" to Sydney knitters
Turramurra Masonic Hall, Cnr Pacific Hwy and Turramurra Avenue, Turramurra
Marie Claude Chapman
Lyn Hart (above middle) carves into a hand-thrown piece on her potter's wheel. Dave Jones (below) uses ebony and ivory piano keys as door handles on his hand-made Australian timber furniture. Bev Cooper of Belisa Cashmere (lbelow left) brings both ready made and crochet kits to your finger tips. Adorn those fingers with diamonds and jewels from Aharoni Jewellery (below right).
Carol Marando (top left) and Marie Claude Chapman (top right) bring glass to life with lampwork beads,
  and Jane Stapleford creates delights with her feathered friend the Gang Gang (above);
Below is a taste of my upcoming newsletter, with design ideas, book bits, travel tales, yarn stores - and their owners, bouncing off the pages with color and passion! I just need to gather my thoughts after Designers and Creators.
Swing Swagger takes on Halloween across America
The Plains, VA - centre of the universe - Rear-View Terror gets a grilling for Halloween - Charlottesville's charm
SWING, SWAGGER, DRAPE - Knit the colors of Australia - was enthusiastically received at XRX's Stitches Mid West in Chicago on the 9th of September. Thousands of avid knitters, brought together by brilliant teachers, new and renewed friendships, and the passionate desire to knit and create, enjoyed a 'book' fashion parade and author's presentation, and then mixed creation with pleasure in my 'Fit for Style' and buttonmaking classes.
Immediately after Stitches I hit the road, and had a great time teaching classes in 6 beautiful yarn stores from Seattle to Long Beach and Charlottesville. I then travelled north through the changing colors of New England (above) to exhibit at Toronto's Creativ Festival (where the book sold out on the first day!) Another equally as fun Stitches show followed, this time in Hartford CT, capping of an unforgettable American experience.
Toronto Creativ Festival
After chasing around the states we loaded up a hire car and drove to Toronto.
We were in good company, with Brandon Mabley and Kaffet Fasset hosting the 30 years of Rowan Yarns as part of the show. Our hostess in Toronto, and famous Toronto Sweaterkits designer & owner, Caroline McInnes, and husband David (and kids Laura and Paul) opened their house to us for the week of the show - a wonderful and friendly beginning to a rewarding Canadian love affair.

 If you'd like to ask a question about anything in this newsletter - or anything at all about hand knitting, please email Jane. Thanks for your support - Laura, Petra, Meg, Sue, and I look forward to seeing you in the knitting circle!
